Media Destruction
Shred Salt Lake is equipped to securely destroy a variety of sensitive items including CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, x-rays, floppy disks, and LTOs, among others.
Rest assured that we have obtained the necessary endorsements for NAID AAA Certification for each of these items. It is crucial to be cautious when entrusting your HIPAA protected records, such as x-rays, to a third party. Many companies may attempt to remove your old x-rays when the price of silver is high without proper vetting, potentially releasing PHI (Protected Health Information) to unauthorized individuals. Shred Salt Lake offers two responsible options for the proper disposal of these x-rays. Please give us a call, and we will be happy to explain them to you.
Hard Drive Destruction
Our specialized equipment for destroying hard drives is designed to allow you to observe the destruction process either at your location or at our secure facility, which is monitored by video surveillance and follows strict protocols. If you choose the latter option, we will collect the hard drives from you, securely lock them in a bin, and transport them in a locked truck to our shredding facility. In either case, we will record the serial numbers of each hard drive and provide you with a list of the destroyed hard drives via email.
Hard drive destruction = digital decimation.
To comply with HIPAA regulations, it is mandatory for organizations to destroy protected health information (PHI) at the end of its retention period. Shred Salt Lake’s hard drive destruction techniques are a responsible and cost-effective means of meeting HIPAA’s privacy standards. For more information on the HIPAA information disposition guidelines, please visit the US Department of Health & Human Services website.
